Our Colorado/Nebraska Getaway

Ella and I are back home and settled in from our getaway. Laundry is all caught up and now I am in the midst of packing for my Vegas trip with my 5 best buddies. We leave tomorrow morning. I am going to miss Ella like crazy (and Chris and the puppies) but I am ready for a break!

As for Colorado Grandma Suzie, Grandpa Roy and cousin Amani (Amy's daughter) arrived a few days before Amy got home. We were able to coordinate everything with the movers and set up Amy's new apartment before she got home. We also had a little fun that week we were there.... went swimming, took the COG train to the top of Pikes Peak, Met up with some of Suzie's cousins in Denver and checked out a wine bar! Had a fun Easter dinner at a Park and then attempted to take the girls' pictures together in their dresses.

Overall, Ella was such a trooper and did so well on the 9 hour drive out from Omaha. The weather was pretty nice most of the time and it did snow once in Colorado Springs the day we left! Ella came down with a cold and a cough while we were there, but was able to get rid of it by the time we were back home.

We then spent a few days in Omaha before heading back home last Sunday. Ella was able to meet Michaela (Bruce's daughter from Virginia) and her boyfriend Brandon. We celebrated her birthday with Robert and Lisa while she was here too! Ella, Grandma Shelly and I also did a lot of shopping of course! Grandpa Bruce also put up a swing for Ella, which she really enjoyed!

Ella has been doing really well with her rice cereal and we will be starting her on baby food in a couple weeks! She is growing like a weed and we think she is probably now close to 15lbs. Her new thing is smacking her lips and spitting! She is getting super close to sitting on her own, but would much rather stand up then practicing sitting down. She is also really close to holding her bottle all by herself. She can do it great in the beginning but hasn't grasped tipping it up to get the rest out of the bottom! :)
