O-N-E

Well our little one is officially ONE YEAR OLD! We had a wonderful time last week celebrating the big day. Ella enjoyed her official birthday party last weekend at the hotel here in town. We went swimming, had cake, opened gifts and played with lots of family and friends. Thank you so much to everyone who made the trip out and to those of you who helped with the planning, decorating and food for the weekend!

Ella is now 19lbs 13oz. She is 29.5" tall and her head is 18 3/4"... doc said she is long and skinny, but very healthy. We have made it one year without our little one getting the flu, an ear infection, rash, or a bad cough... knock on wood. Despite her sniffles and her tear duct issue she is one healthy little bugger! We hope this next year goes the same way.

Ella still has a bottle twice a day, which we are working on eliminating and is now in the process of switching over to whole milk and saying goodbye to formula. She is still eating stage 3 baby foods as she is just not a fan of whole foods just yet. She does like to eat beans, bread, potatoes, crackers and cookies but that is about the extent of it. She loves her veggies and fruits as long as they are pureed! She is still loving her oatmeal and rice cereal as well as yogurt so we continue to give her that everyday. She is doing well drinking from a sippy cup, but is not a fan of juices she would prefer water or milk.

Ella has been walking on her own for a little over a month now and continues to work on her balancing and quickness. Sometimes she attempts to speed walk and it makes Mommy really nervous. Ella received a lot of learning toys and puzzles for her birthday so we have really started working on animal noises and colors. She still loves to be read to and always is ready to turn the page.

Ella was a pink kitty for Halloween and had a good time out trick or treating for her first time. Her favorite candy was a Dum-Dum sucker.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped in making Ella's 1st birthday so very special. She is a lucky girl to have such a wonderful circle of family and friends. Chris is about finished up with her 1 year video and hopefully I will be able to upload that to the blog as well.

Until next time... Jen
